![]() It's possible to "funnel" the AI into your best units by stacking them all in the center of the map in a well defended spot because it seems to gravitate towards where most of your unit points have been spent (this makes some battles absurdly easy to win).Ħ- The campaign is definitely longer than the other campaigns and takes longer to win if you attempt to rush it which is a defintie improvement. In my opinion this campaign should be more than enough of a challenge for newer players to the series.Ĥ- The good points in my opinion are: action happens faster than in the other campaign (less turns spent waiting for something to happen), AI battlegroups are buffed in size to be a considerable threat for most of the campaign, huge variety of units that are encountered throughout the campaign, notifications on enemy movements, troop deployments, and special objectives on some turns that make the campaign feel more dynamic and add depth to the world and emphasize or add special importance to a battle that might otherwise be mundane (reminds me of the news bulletins you get during the European Escalation campaign), and lastly the theater of war is satisfyingly large and reinforcements take longer to reach the front than they do in other campaigns which makes the fight at the frontline more desperate at times.ĥ- Some of the maps don't make much sense but this is understandable (Pyongyang being in the middle of a desert seems odd for instance), the campaign can get easy too quickly if you manage to hold and take high political point sectors on the campaign map early on which can start a snowball effect that the AI does not stand a chance against (maybe I play too much Wargame). The naval battles are also more of a challenge than those in the other campaigns. ![]() The battles seem to require more preparation on the campaign map and caution during the battle in order to win and avoid taking heavy losses. The high number of battlegroups and their diversity makes the battles less monotonous because you get to use a wider array of units more often (same goes for the enemy units you're fighting).ģ- The difficulty is definitely a step above the other campaigns but begins to taper off as it drags on and you accrue political points more rapidly. The more scripted events of this campaign make the actual campaign map more interesting because a lot of the moves the campaign map AI makes adds challenge missing from some of the others. 1- Almost done, about to reach the final objective in the top right (been playing in chunks of a couple hours over the week).Ģ- The start of the campaign is much more interesting than the other campaigns in my opinion because the heated action starts off immediately.
